PMP practice exam and test questions
The Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI is the best-known project management certification. PMI launched a new version of the exam on July 9, 2026: 180 questions in 240 minutes, with more weight on the business environment and new scenario and graphic-based questions. Most questions describe a project situation and ask what the project manager should do next, across predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. Our PMP practice exams are updated for the July 2026 exam and train that judgement.

What the PMP exam tests
- People: leading teams, conflict, stakeholder engagement and supporting team performance.
- Process: scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and choosing a predictive, agile or hybrid approach.
- Business environment: compliance, benefits, organizational change and the project’s link to strategy.
- New 2026 topics: AI in project work, sustainability and stakeholder engagement in project scenarios.
Sample PMP exam question
Midway through a hybrid project, a key stakeholder asks for a new feature that would put a regulatory deadline at risk. What should the project manager do first?
- Add the feature to keep the stakeholder satisfied.
- Reject the request because the deadline is fixed.
- Assess the impact on scope, schedule and compliance, then review the options with the stakeholder through the change process.
- Escalate the request to the sponsor immediately.
Answer: 3. PMP questions usually reward understanding the impact first, then involving the right people through the agreed process. Acting or escalating before you know the impact is rarely the best answer. Every question in our bank explains its answer like this.
Two ways to prepare: Practice Mode and Mock Exam Mode
- Practice Mode: study at your own pace. Choose how many questions you want in each session, from a short set to all 2,000+ questions, with no time limit and an in-depth explanation after every answer. Progress saves automatically.
- Mock Exam Mode (Timed Mode): sit a full mock exam that mimics the real one: 180 random questions in 240 minutes, scored at the end. Every attempt draws a new random set.
- In-depth explanations: every question comes with a detailed explanation that walks you through what the question is really asking and why the correct answer is right, so you understand the reasoning instead of memorizing answers.
- Benchmarking: compare your scores with other candidates and see which topics need work.
- Lifetime access with updates whenever PMI changes the exam.
